Modern and Contemporary

I.S.T.D Modern work covers a wide variety of styles within exercises specially created to improve; core strength, stamina, flexibility and strong dynamics as well as style and performance skills. At DMS the students can study a mix of Lyrical Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Street Jazz,to assist the aims of the I.S.T.D syllabus. All these styles put together under an umbrella create a true modern performer.

I.S.T.D Contemporary is a brand new syllabus created by the I.S.T.D to develope a dances sense of movement and musicality.  This is a great addition to the DMS timetable and will created well rounded dancers when complimented with our current classes.

 

We also enter several pupils every year into the I.S.T.D Janet Cram Modern awards which is a pretigious national level competition.

 

Here at DMS we offer modern classes from 5yrs with the ISTD Primary modern syllabus and contemporary classes from age 8.
